About Bitwise Design

Founded in 2006, Bitwise Design provides engineering and consulting services for the mobile and gaming industries as well as enterprise server systems and is a prominent independent game development studio.  The company headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA and is private and independently owned.

Our efforts are primarily focused on creating fun and addicting games for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac, and Web browser platforms. We are experienced in the entire flow of game development starting from the creating of the initial designs on paper, complete art concept and development, code, level design, sound effects, and even publication. Our acclaimed flagship game, Hospital Havoc, appeared on the Apple iTunes AppStore in March of 2009 and was followed by our exotic carnival simulation game, Karnival, later that year. Since then we have been involved with numerous other games and have grown into a very fast paced and knowledgeable development studio leveraging the power of the Unity3D engine.

Bitwise Design is a member of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).  The IGDA is the largest non-profit membership organization serving individuals who create video games; they bring together developers at conferences, in local chapters and in special interest groups to improve their lives and craft.

Ray Graham

Originally born out of the Pennsylvania State University as an electrical engineer with a background in digital hardware chip design (having once been a part of the illustrious team that created the input/output processor for the Playstation 2), Ray Graham went full-time into software development in 2005 by entering the mobile space as an engineering director at Mobile Greetings in Walnut Creek, CA.  After founding Bitwise Design in 2006, he hunkered down and specialized in the ins and outs of Java Enterprise (JEE) and spent a couple years as an independent contractor and consultant for Ad Infuse (now a part of Velti) by helping them build out their targeting mobile advertisement platform.  Having always been extremely passionate about gaming (and was a co-founder of the Online Gaming League back in the old days of Quake) Ray took up the mantle of full-time game developer in 2008 and pronounced Bitwise Design to be an independent game development studio.
